The unique houses from the 17th and 18th centuries have turned the village into an architecture preserve. All of them have been renovated, yet kept their authentic look. Some of the most famous houses include Kandilarova, Hadzhipanaiotova, Lecheva and the house of Ilarion Dragostinov.
Some of the houses appear as safe as fortresses with their stone gateways, guard’s posts, hiding-places and secret stairways. The village prospered during uncertain times, which explains all the fortifications.
Arbanasi’s fountains are also well-known. Some of the must-sees are Kokonska and Pazarska Cheshma.
