Green hills, leading to a sunny beach host the resort of Golden Sands. The resort is located 17 km north of the city of Varna.

According to one legend, pirates hid golden treasure in the sands of the nowadays resort. The sea decided to bring justice for the wrongdoings of the pirates and turned the treasures into fine sand.

The shoreline is covered by the finest, soft sand and its width reaches up to 100 m.

Golden Sands was initially planned as an elitist tourism resort, offering calm rest to wealthy visitors. Today the idea has been greatly modified.

Luxurious hotels have been constructed on the slopes. The noisy clubs and seaside bars attract younger people to the resort.

Various entertainment options make tourists select Golden Sands as the place for their vacation. Options include sunbathing, swimming, enjoying spa therapy and numerous procedures connected to the hot mineral springs in the region.

Apart from the typical attractions, Golden Sands offers some alternative free-time options. Short walks will take you to nearby resorts and monasteries. You can also experience a safari-type of trip to the nearby hills.

Golden Sands is also preferred for congress tourism during the summer months. The resort also hosts elite beauty contests.
