Located 180 km away from Sofia close to the town of Belogradchik. The length of the chambers discovered until now is 2500 m.
Magourata has one main chamber and several additional ones. Each chamber is more than 200 m long. The cave and the area around have been named nature landmark.
Cave drawings link the cave to several time periods. Similar drawings have been found in caves in Italy and Asia Minor.
Leaving the Magourata, you will see the Rabishko lake, the biggest internal lake in the country.
Magourata is also famous for the biggest stalagmite found in Bulgaria. It carries the name The Fallen Pine and is more than 11 m high.
The cave has been used for the production of champaign. There, it cools down in natural surroundings. Similar techniques are used in French champaign production.
Tourists can enter Magourata from 9am to 2pm. The entry fee is three leva for adults and one lev for children. Organized groups of at least 10 people need to pay 35 leva.
