Mineral springs, which according to people have healing power, flow in Roupite. According to some, the region has its specific biomagnetic field. The only volcano on the territory of Bulgaria, Kozhouh, is also situated nearby.
The famous spa resort of Marikostinovo is located few kilometers away from Petrich. If you have enough time, visit the town of Melnik. This is the smallest Bulgarian town and is well known for its weird sand towers and quality wine.
