The resort town of Pomorie is situated on the coast of the Black Sea, 22 km north of the city of Bourgas. Apart from the beautiful beaches and seaside tourism, Pomorie offers spa treatment opportunities.

Pomorie has been known as a spa center in ancient times. During the Roman period, it gained fame because of the mineral springs and healing mud available there.

The healing mud clinic was constructed in Pomorie in 1925. A new sanatorium was constructed in 1983.
