One of the well-known landmarks in Elenski Balkan (a specific part of Stara Planina Mountain) area is Hristovski waterfall. The waterfall was named a protected area in 1974. Hristovski waterfall is situated at an altitude of 400 m south of Hristovtsi district of Rouhovtsi village.
An eco path leads to Miykovska River and the waterfall. Shelters, benches and a barbecue have been set up to allow tourists to take a break.
The western wall features vertical cliffs and with the aid of instructors you can go down the rocks of the waterfall itself. Using Alpine climbing equipment, tourists can follow the several paths in the region.
A steep slope goes down the left side of the river. This slope is covered in dense forests, while the right side features a meadow. A sign reminds visitors that they have entered a protected area.
The waterfall has been named a landmark and a protected area in order to preserve the landscape and the beautiful natural phenomenon untouched.
