A rich Sevlievo resident and his son decided to set up a complex named Dandolovi houses. Its unique architecture gives clear view of the revival period lifestyle in the town. The three houses were constructed as to have separate gates and separate yard entrances.
The complex underwent renovation in 1973 and now preserves the ethnographic past of the town.
Once you cross the big wooden gate, you are to submerge yourself in the revival time ambience. The yard still has its flower beds and a place where the family used to sit together during the summer. A bread oven has also been reconstructed. The table has been set, as if the owner is about to have a rakia drink in the shade of the trees.
A shelter protects agriculture tools among which a machine for crop winnowing. Some very rare utensils can be seen there.
The second floor of the houses features clothing and furniture. Visitors can get acquainted with folk costumes, a cradle, wooden utensils, tables and a loom.
A library and an old photo camera have been placed in several rooms. These also feature European clothing and modern furniture.
The corner room offers amazing view, since it enables visitors to observe three streets at the same time.
If you happen to like post cards, the complex has its own collection from the beginning of the previous century.
The ground floor of Koliouva house presents typical for the Sevlievo region crafts. There, visitors can see examples of pottery, copper production and gold jewelry production.
Dandolovi houses is also the site of concerts, exhibitions and presentations of poets and writers.
