The cave carrying this creepy name (the devil’s throat) is a deep, rather than a long one.

It is situated close to Trigrad and the entrance can be seen on the side of the road to the village. The very beautiful Yagoudinska cave is located nearby.

Diavolskoto Gurlo houses the biggest underground waterfall on the Balkan peninsula.

The name of the cave comes from the shape of its entrance. Another creepy fact: everything that the river brings inside the cave remains there. Though the water leaves the cave, none of the objects that entered came out.

The main chamber is called Bouchashtata Zala (the roaring chamber) because of the noise that the water makes. According to legends, the cave is the place that Orpheus used to enter the underground and save his beloved Eurydice.

During the summer, the cave is open for visits from 9am to 5pm. Guides wait for a big enough group to form, before the walk inside starts.

If you happen to be afraid of heights, better refrain from entering the cave. Adrenaline rush is certain once you get inside.
