A major necropolis in the Bakuren Izvor region, near the village of Evrenozovo, holds an interesting Roman tomb.
The tomb was discovered in 2003 and dates back to the beginning of the 4th century AD.
The stone tomb has been placed in a mound and features semi-cylindrical vault arch and elaborate façade. A second landmark, created more than a millennium later can be seen nearby. Tombs featuring similar architecture are no more than five or six on the territory of Bulgaria.
Evrenozovo is situated 34 km away from Malko Turnovo. Its name stems from the word evren, meaning dragon. People believed that some of the ancient landmarks situated in the region were dragon dens and this is how the village got its name.
