The village of Gela is situated seven km away from the village of Shiroka Luka. It is situated in a mountainous region and offers excellent views. Archaeologists believe that Gela is one of the oldest settlements in the region.
Various landmarks can be seen in the region. Lednitsata cave and the peaks of Golyam Perelik, Maluk Perelik and Orpheus are situated near Gela.
If possible, visit Gela during the summer. An annual pipe festival takes place during that time.
The local climate also proved favorable for people suffering respiratory diseases. It is also considered that the local climate is healing for people with pulmonary diseases.
Gela’s population is 79 people. Despite this small community, the village has several hotels. A few mountain huts are situated nearby.
