An ancient Bulgarian tradition, fire-dancing, is still performed in four villages. Kosti is one of them.
The village is situated 25 km away from Tsarevo, in the Strandzha Mountain region. It happens to be very close to the border between Bulgaria and Turkey. Silkosia, one of Bulgaria’s oldest preserves, is situated nearby.
Historic remains have been preserved to tell the story of the region. A number of Thracian toms were uncovered near Kosti. Some of the village’s houses are really old and demonstrate the traditional Bulgarian architecture.
Kosti’s attractions include the church of St. St. Cyril and Methodius, which was destroyed and later on rebuilt.
