Okolchitsa peak is situated 20 km away from the town of Vratsa. Bus transportation is available from the town to the landmark during the summer. It is one of the hundred national tourist sites.
A monument in the shape of a cross rises 35 m above the ground. It honors the revolutionary activities of Hristo Botev and his troops. On June 2 1876, Botev's revolutionaries fought their last battle at Okolchitsa. Botev himself died, hit by a bullet in the head.
Stone carving marks the revolutionary's final resting place.
