Lyulin Mountain is situated close to Sofia and the opportunities for mountain walks there are immense. Various marked paths have been created to allow tourists explore some of the biggest Lyulin landmarks.
The level of difficulty is suitable for various types of visitors, including tourists who lack significant experience. Some of the more challenging paths have been created to meet the needs of experienced mountain lovers.
Sofia’s districts of Gorna Banya, Malo Bouchino, Kniazhevo and Vladaia are located in the northern slopes of Lyulin Mountain. These can be used as the starting point of various mountain paths.
In case you prefer a calmer type of activity, you can always have a picnic on one of the green mountain meadows.
Take a walk to Gornobanski Monastery St. St. Cyril and Methodius or to Manastirski Livadi region.
Lyulin Mountain’s highest point is Doupevitsa peak. Until 1997, tourists were banned from reaching the peak since military facilities were located there.
