Batak's history museum brags a rich collection of items, among which documents and authentic artifacts from various time periods. The museum was created in 1956.

Items have been divided in several collections among which archeology, Bulgarian history from the 15th to the 19th century, ethnography and modern history. A big collection focuses on Batak's participation in the April uprising. During the revolt, several hundred Batak residents were killed and the settlement was burned down.

The museum is open each day from 8.30 am to 5 pm during the summer. It welcomes visitors from 8 am to midday and from 1 pm to 5 pm during the winter.

Batak has several other landmarks worth taking a look at. The church Sveta Nedelia is a historic landmark of national importance. It was built in 1813. During the April uprising, women, children and elderly people hid there but Ottoman soldiers did not spare their lives.

Balinova house hosts an ethnographic exhibition. In was built in 1868 and represents a typical Batak house from the revival period.
