Ledenika Cave
Ledenika is one of the most beautiful caves in the country. It is located 16 km away from the town of Vratsa. The length of the cave is 320 m and it has 10 halls.
Long time ago, the cave was filled with water, which gradually pulled away. Today, the cave has only one lake named Ezeroto na Zhelaniata (the wishing well). According to a legend, a wish made at that spot will come true.
The White Hall has some interesting formations, yet the most famous Ledenika chamber is the Concert Hall. Its height is 23 m.
During the spring and winter, ice formations can be spotted in the outer chamber.
The cave is open for visitors each day from 9 am to 5 pm during the summer and to 4 pm during the winter. To learn more about it, click here.
Vratsa History Museum
Vratsa's history museum is situated on 2 Hristo Botev street, in the central part of town. It was created in 1953 and today has more than 100 000 artifacts. Works of art can also be seen there.
The artifacts describe in detail the history of Vratsa region. The famous Thracian treasures from Mogilanska mound and from Rogozen can be seen there. The Rogozen treasure benefits from special equipment that provides better preservation. More information about it is available here.
Visit the museum each day apart from Monday. It works from 9 am to midday and from 3 pm to 7 pm during the summer and from 9 am to midday and from 2 pm to 6 pm during the winter.
