Aleko Konstantinov's museum has been set up in his house in Svishtov. Konstantinov donated the building for the cultural needs of the town. The museum opened doors in 1926.
The first floor features an archeology collection that brings together various artifacts from the region. An exhibition dedicated to Konstantinov was put on display on the second floor. His belongings and books tell a lot about the writer's short but colorful life.
The authentic looks of the second floor have been preserved.
Many of Konstantinov's books, translated in several languages, can be seen in the museum. Probably its most valuable item is the heart of the writer that has been specially preserved.
