Vihren is the tallest peak of Pirin Mountain with its 2914 m. This ranks it as the second highest Bulgarian peak after Rila's Mousala and as the third most impressive mountain peak on the Balkans. Many paths can be followed to reach it, the easiest one being the path through Bansko.
Vihren and Bunderitsa huts are situated beneath the peak. There, tourists can rest and spend the night for the modest five to six leva per person. You can reach Vihren hut by car or by a taxi from Bansko.
