Yulen is a preserve situated inside Pirin National Park at a height of 1200 m. The preserve features many animal and plant species. Numerous lakes located on its territory give the start of many small rivers.
The preserve’s biggest pride is the centuries-old white fir, pine and spruce forests. Some interesting flowers also grow in Yulen. A number of the species existed during the Ice Age and can still be seen in the preserve today.
Many animals inhabit Yulen. The biggest diversity is exhibited among the bird species. Mammals living in the preserve include wolves, bears and wild goats.
