During March, Romania welcomed more than 600 000 foreign tourists, Dnevnik daily reported quoting data of the Romanian statistics institute.
The figure represents an increase of over 26 percent. More than 95 percent of the foreign tourists came from EU countries.
Bulgarians represent 26 percent of the foreign visitors. The only bigger group is Hungarians, or 32 percent of the overall visits.
Over the first quarter of 2008, the number of tourists who visited Romania has increased by 6.2 percent.
