Though the summer tourism season has started, construction works in Varna region resorts are ongoing, national private channel bTV reported.
Varna mayor Kiril Yordanov issued an order that halts all construction works during the summer, insurance.bg reported. The ban was to be enforced on May 1.
Yet, construction works are ongoing. Only the shore alley of Golden Sands resort is in good condition. “The activities of [investors] show that they have the intention to continue construction during the active tourism season,” Yordanov said.
St. Konstantin and Elena resort is in better condition and almost ready to welcome its first visitors.
Nessebur municipality also imposed construction limitations. The entry of trucks is forbidden in its resorts since May 15.
If construction continues after May 30, the municipality will start fining investors.
