A report of the European Commission states that Varna's southern beach will be banned for usage during the upcoming summer season due to water pollution, dir.bg reported.
Health Ministry provided data according to which the sea water poses health danger. The usage of nine other beaches will be banned, as well.
Varna municipal representatives said that they will counter the statement, since it was based on old evaluation. In mid-May, representatives of the regional eco inspectorate said that the sea water of the southern beach was polluted and mixed with waste water.
Several days ago, officials said that a purifying station that will deal with the problem will not be constructed.
