Tourism agencies said that Bulgarian tourists are increasingly resorting to early bookings. The increase has reached nearly 50 percent in comparison to figures for 2007, Politika newspaper reported.
In February, the Union of Tourism Investors (UTI) asked its members to give Bulgarians, who book their vacation before March 31, a discount. The suggested price decrease is 10 percent of the vacation value.
Data from major resorts shows that many Bulgarians have made use of such discounts. Rousalka resort managers said that early bookings increased by six percent. Other resort representatives said that many Bulgarians booked a vacation during March and April and the majority preferred all inclusive packages.
