Execution of the Super Borovets resort project will be delayed by one year because of change in plans, Dnevnik daily reported. New marketing research led to the changes.
Equest, the main investor, ordered new marketing research. Results were presented to representatives of Samokov municipality, which is shareholder in the project, as well. Equest manager Georgi Kroumov said that infrastructure construction will also be needed, before project execution starts. The project also needs to meet all eco and tourism sector tendencies.
Super Borovets is to be the first new massive mountain project and its execution has been discussed over the past five years. Plans include the construction of a lift between Borovets and Samokov, the creation of apartment complexes, trade areas, hotels, spa centers, an aquapark and a golf course.
Work on Super Borovets is expected to begin next year. The resort plans to attract tourists year-round upon its completion.
