Despite increasing fuel prices, the cost of charter flights from Germany to Bulgaria remains reasonable, Monitor daily reported. The combination of these flights with moderate accommodation prices in Bulgaria attracts many German tourists.
During May, Bulgarian hotels offer inexpensive packages. A four-star hotel package is valued at 369 euro per person for a two-beds room. Similar offers in Turkey and Egypt are slightly more expensive.
Tourism Investors Union (TIU) said that the lack of a national marketing strategy will lead to lower interest of foreign tourists. TIU said it was ready to finance a marketing campaign focusing on spring tourism opportunities in the country, in order to extend the active summer season.
Bulgarian resorts can become more appealing if construction stops as early as April 15, TIU said. The first foreign visitors arrive on May 1, which leaves enough time for finalization of construction works and cleaning.
