Sandanski to invest 26 m leva in infrastructure projects
Sandanski municipality's investment plan for 2008 totals 26 million leva, econ.bg reported. In 2007, the value of projects was only seven million leva, deputy Sandanski mayor Mladen Timchev said.

The construction of a purifying station in the village of Vulkovo and Sandanski Business Center for tourism and agriculture development are the two biggest projects.

A new PHARE project for infrastructure development in the region of Rozhen monastery started this year. The road from the village of Rozhen to the monastery will be renovated. Signs, rest shelters and bus stops will also be set up to aid tourists.

Another project aims better parking conditions in Sandanski. Road renovations, including the road between Sandanski and the village of Lilianovo, will also take place.
