The positioning of tents outside camping areas in Nessebar municipalities led to the introduction of fines, Dnevnik daily reported. Municipality representatives said that fines are needed since lots of waste is left, once the tents are removed.
Fines will vary from 500 to 5000 leva. One of the places, where tent positioning will be forbidden, is the wild beach area Irakli.
Nessebar mayor Nikolai Dimitrov said that unregulated camping will no longer be tolerated. He said that everyone "calling themselves ecologists believe they have the right to position a tent anywhere they like."
Green Advocates representative Veselin Paskalev said that the fines are too large for such violation. He said that an appeal will be filed to the Bourgas regional court.
