During construction in Roupite, workers found a 17-m high ancient wall, Viara daily reported.
The wall is situated near the ancient site Heraclea Sintika, director of Petrich History Museum Sotir Ivanov said,
Archaeologists found part of a wall at the depth of four m during the past year. They believe that the recent finding is part of the same system.
The wall surrounded an ancient settlement. It was developed over time and got additional premises used as stores and workshops.
A path that is currently being constructed will connect Roupite to the ancient remains. The path will lead to the mineral baths in the region and the church of prophet Vanga.
