Bourgas Airport to service more than two m passengers this year
The airport in the coastal city of Bourgas is expected to witness a 10 percent increase in flights, its manager Kalin Barzov told DariK Radio.

Regular flights will increase nearly 90 percent or as much as 1003 flights more in comparison to figures for 2007. These figures average 59 flights per week, mainly to destinations like Berlin, Bratislava, Vienna and Copenhagen.

Bourgas Airport started the active season in the end of March. During the peak summer months, it is to service more than 1000 passengers per hour.

In 2008, the airport is to service nearly two million passengers and the busiest month is expected to be July. Airport staff is ready to deal with more than 160 arrivals and departures per day in that period.

Barzov said that most of the passengers that arrive are tourists. The second biggest group is Bulgarians traveling to European countries. The third group involves visitors, who come to Bulgaria on business trips or to purchase property.
