								The Razlog valley is one of the truly beautiful Bulgarian places, hidden amongst Rila, Pirin and the Rhodope mountains. Parts of Rila and Pirin national parks surround it.

Razlog&amp;rsquo;s Thracian name used to be Mehomia. According to legends, a Thracian warrior defeated his enemy there and decided to establish a settlement in honor of the victory. The name meant My Victory. Razlog received its current name in 1925.

The Razlog history museum still preserves remains of Thracian times. The region features numerous other historic landmarks. Three medieval fortresses surround it, proving that Razlog was part of medieval Bulgaria&amp;rsquo;s fortification system.

Some early Christian temples have been discovered there as well. The oldest ones date back to the fifth and fourth centuries.
