Ravda

Most Bulgarian children remember the village of Ravda because until recently it was popular as a school trip destination. The village is situated between Aheloi and Nessebar, 30 km north of Bourgas.

Today, Ravda and Nessebar have nearly merged. Southern Black Sea resorts and towns like Nessebar, Sunny Beach, St. Vlas and Elenite have practically become one.

Mass construction occurred in Ravda, just like in many other coastal resorts. The once small and charming village has turned into a concrete complex that features numerous hotels but poor infrastructure.

Yet, Ravda has managed to preserve some of its peacefulness in comparison to the nearby Nessebar and Sunny Beach. The village is preferred destination of families having small children. Its beach features entertainment opportunities and tourism attractions.

Schools still organize trips for their students there and continue the tradition. But the once upon a time deserted Ravda center is now hectic and seeing the visits of numerous tourists. Visitors can enjoy various shops and restaurants.

Regular transportation like trains and buses connects Ravda to Nessebar, Sunny Beach and Bourgas. Many prefer Ravda because of the inexpensive accommodation and the proximity to the major resorts.
